Bad Blumau

I went for a  4.5 hour bike ride to Bad Blumau - a thermal bath in Styria,
designed by the artist Hundertwasser.

Älteste Eiche Europas = Europe's oldest oak tree

There it is.

I went the wrong way at first - I did a nice big loop that took me
right back to Fürstenfeld - so I was excited when I saw the Bad Blumau sign.

Augenschlitz Häuser - Eyeslit houses - where people stay

From the back - they're literally in the ground

They are in fact shaped like eyes.

so I don't actually know what some of the places are called in English.

Parliament. Modeled after Westminster, but
a tad bit longer. Competition much?

The second biggest synagogue in the world.

The British are very excited about the Olympics.

The Danube. Buda on the left, Pest on the right.

Big statue at the top of the hill

This dude was punished by being shut in
a barrel with stones and rolled down the
hill into the Danube.

Haha.

Sunday morning - the streets are almost completely empty.

Vorosmarty Square.

The Tower Bridge! Oh wait, that's in London. This is the Chain Bridge.
