Cotswolds (11/04/11)

Margaret and I headed up to the Cotswolds for the day. We trained to Moreton-in-Marsh, bused to Stow-on-the-Wold, and then hiked 6 miles through Lower and Upper Slaughter back to Stow-on-the-Wold. Beautiful English countryside.
Fleece Alley in Stow. They also have Sheep Street.

Flowers.

Gritty Tulips.

Butterfly! And excellent blowing grass.

Short trek through the woods.

Past a riding school.

Heading to Lower Slaughter.

We took a detour to visit some horses.

One of whom took a liking to Margaret.
Or perhaps just the food in her backpack.

Or perhaps just her hair.

I see you.

Little nibbles.

Following the public footpath.

Lower Slaughter. Quaint little town. All stone houses.

There's a really old mill. And next door you can get
homemade ice cream. Delicious.

What's that peeking around the tree?? A lamb!!

Another lamb!

A resting lamb. Who didn't like me.

So she went and nuzzled her mummy.

You know you're in England when...

Turned the corner and....were accosted by a group of runaway sheep.

More lambs!
The path took us through a cow pasture.

Hey there. Don't mind us...

And past some more horses in their stalls.

  1. Classic, beautiful English countryside...I particularly like the photo of the sheep who have taken over the street!
